Liverpool might be getting closer to landing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, according to different reports this morning, but all is not done just yet.
Despite Fabrizio Romano claiming the deal was ‘done’ this morning, there seems to be another take on things.
This time, from The Athletic’s Brighton journalist, Andy Naylor.
Naylor has been consistent in his approach and comments on Brighton’s outgoings this summer. He hasn’t jumped to conclusions and has played down a number of reports.
And taking to Twitter this afternoon, Naylor has once again claimed that despite reports on Mac Allister, that nothing has been agreed just yet.
Naylor hasn’t played down the interest in Mac Allister in the past. Far from it. However, he has refused to be drawn into discussions and rumours about deals being done.
It very much seems, then, that the inside information from The AMEX suggests not everything is completed just yet.
Of course, things might be done in the next day or two. But as it stands, it seems Liverpool fans will have to sit sight and wait for the clubs to announce something.

RTK’s View: There’s always another angle
Look, we all know it’s looking like Mac Allister signs for Liverpool. And this isn’t to doubt the likes of Romano and other journalists, who may have their own information and be accurate with it.
But Naylor has been bang on in previous discussions around Brighton so the fact he’s getting in on the act, suggests it’s something Reds fans should take note of.
Mac Allister is obviously our main target and in all likelihood, we get the deal over the line.
But you just never know in football. One false move and the whole house could crumble.
For now, then, we await an official announcement before we get too excited.
