Liverpool have completed a deal to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Argentinian midfielder has been the main target for Liverpool over the last few weeks and it seems that the Reds have got the deal done and dusted.
Taking to his Twitter account, Romano has given the deal his now famous ‘here we go’ comments and said in a tweet that the deal is now ‘done’.
In the tweet, Romano confirms that Liverpool will pay less than the £60m that keeps getting mentioned in different media reports.
Liverpool to sign Mac Allister
The Reds have been working on this for some time now and it seems that they’ve got the deal over the line.
The good news here is that the club have acted quickly and it looks like Liverpool have made a signing before the window officially opens in around 10 days’ time.
Mac Allister will be the first of what we hope will be many new signings this summer. After a stunning season with Brighton, the World Cup winner will now face the task of impressing at Anfield.
Brighton are expected to let a number of players leave this summer. Mac Allister, as well as fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo, are among the key men set to be sold.
RTK’s View: Just what was needed
It was vital we got off to a great start in this window and signing Mac Allister is the ideal signing to do it.
Mac Allister to Liverpool has been touted for some time now and you have to credit FSG and the transfer team for getting the deal done so quickly.
Hopefully, this is the first of many. Mac Allister should be a fine signing for the Reds and if more follow, then we could be in for a fine season going into next year.
