Fabrizio Romano has said that Liverpool have a slim chance of signing Ryan Gravenberch this summer, with Bayern Munich not willing to negotiate for the midfielder.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the Italian transfer expert revealed that the Bundesliga giants don’t want to offload the Netherlands international at this stage, though there is every chance that Bayern could change their stance on Gravenberch later in the summer.
The £152,000-a-week talent has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to spend big on midfielders this summer, and Gravenberch could be a perfect addition for the Anfield side if they can strike a deal.
However, Bayern have now seemingly changed their stance on selling Gravenberch despite reports recently claiming that the Bavarian side will offload the midfielder for the right price, with this update a hammer blow for Liverpool’s summer plans.
Romano said: “They don’t want to negotiate at this stage, so if at some point this summer, Bayern will decide to put him on the market and to negotiate, Liverpool will be there for sure. Otherwise, I think it’s going to be complicated because, as of today, Bayern have no intention of opening talks.”
Liverpool could still be in with a shot of signing Gravenberch
Bayern’s aggressive turn on their stance on selling Gravenberch might catch some off-guard, yet for Liverpool, they know that they still have a good chance at signing the midfielder as the summer transfer window progresses from here on out.
As we know, Gravenberch is keen to leave Bayern and the pressure could soon crack the German side into selling the former Ajax wonderkid. And for Liverpool, this will be their moment to strike and to bring the 21-year-old to Anfield in what could be quite the coup.
