Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing rumoured Liverpool target Declan Rice, with Thomas Tuchel a fan of the West Ham captain.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the former Chelsea manager is interested in the 24-year-old, however, Bayern know they will struggle to sign Rice given how much West Ham want for their star midfielder, with £120m the current reported asking price.

Bayern are also not the only top side interested in Rice, with Liverpool heavily linked with a move for the England international as Pat Nevin recently labelled the Anfield side as the ‘perfect’ fit for the West Ham midfielder, who is set to leave east London this summer.

Whilst Liverpool’s need for a midfielder is great, interest from Bayern in a top target could be a major blow for Jurgen Klopp’s side. However, with West Ham demanding as much as £120m for Rice, both teams could easily miss out on the 24-year-old general.

Indeed, there’s no denying that Rice would be a world-class signing for the majority of teams around Europe this summer. But with West Ham asking for a British transfer record for their star player, Bayern could join Liverpool in struggling to justify signing the midfielder.

Liverpool are set to go big in the transfer market this summer, with multiple midfield signings the main order of business for the Merseyside giants. And whilst Rice could be the most expensive option out there, the Reds will be hoping Bayern soon drop their interest in the West Ham star.

As we know, the pending Bundesliga champions are a club who rarely spend big on marquee signings, and with Rice valued well over £100m, Tuchel’s side could be unwilling to go all out for the England international, especially with interest from Liverpool unlikely to fade.
