Aaron Ramsdale has admitted that Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of his closest friends, with the pair often seen together on international duty with England.
Speaking on the Premier League’s Behind The Game, the Arsenal star revealed that the Liverpool defender is one of his best mates off the pitch, with Ramsdale always making sure that he doesn’t allow Alexander-Arnold to score against him.
The duo have met numerous times in the Premier League with Ramsdale enjoying the honours this season with Arsenal beating Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium 3-2, with Alexander-Arnold managing to help the Reds to a 2-2 draw in April this year.
Indeed, it is no surprise that the two players are as close as they are given how tight-knit the England camp now is, and Ramsdale has now admitted how big his friendship with Alexander-Arnold is despite the pair playing for rival clubs in the Premier League.
Ramsdale said on his friendship with Alexander-Arnold: “My rivalries come from all my friends, so Trent Alexander-Arnold. I can’t let him score. He’s one of my closest friends and that is a major challenge for me.”

Friendly rivalries are something top footballers hold near and dear to their hearts throughout their careers, and we all know already that Alexander-Arnold is relishing with the chance to score against Ramsdale in a Premier League match.
The Liverpool defender is likely to remain at Anfield for the remainder of his career, with Ramsdale also having all the tools to start for Arsenal for the next five to ten years, and Alexander-Arnold will be hopeful of beating the England international in the league in the coming seasons.
