Ally McCoist has lauded Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal against Leicester City last night, with the Liverpool defender scoring an outragous free-kick.
Speaking on TalkSport, the Scottish pundit was full of praise for the 24-year-old right-back after Alexander-Arnold secured all three points for Liverpool against Leicester with an incredible free-kick routine that caught the King Power Stadium side off-guard.
With Curtis Jones also scoring a spectaulacar goal for Liverpool in the first half, Alexander-Arnold joined in on the part with his set-piece routine 71 minutes in, pushing the Reds up to one point off Manchester United and Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League spots.
Alexander-Arnold scored a similar goal in Liverpool’s 2019/20 Premier League-winning season, and for McCoist, the defender’s technique on his latest strike against Leicester was out of this world, with the moment likely to be pivotal in the Reds’ late mission for top-four.
McCoist said on Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick against the Foxes: “Trent going forward is as good as it gets. Deliveries, set-plays, the goal last night summed him up, absolutely out-of-the-world finish. The little backheel and hitting the ball on the move. Different class.”
