Owen Beck has made an indirect plea to Jurgen Klopp that he wants to play for Liverpool’s senior team next season, with the 20-year-old struggling to make the leap from the academy.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the fullback revealed that he wants to play for the Anfield giants and that he will do everything possible to make his dream a reality, with Beck spending his entire career with Liverpool having moved to Merseyside as a teenager.

With the likes of Conor Bradley expected to be handed a chance to impress under Klopp this summer, it makes sense why Beck wants an opportunity to prove himself with Liverpool’s senior team, having made two appearances over the years.

Indeed, Beck is clearly confident in his abilities, with Klopp himself labelling the youngster as a ‘super talent’. And for the player himself, he wants to break into the first-team picture after impressing for the U-21s this season as well as out with Bolton Wanderers.

Beck said: “I want to play for this football club, and I know how hard that is, but I want to give it everything that I have got to try to make that dream a reality. I’ve just got to keep working as hard as I can and if the opportunity comes during pre-season then I’ve got to take that.

Beck could benefit from another loan spell before making the Liverpool leap

Having been out on loan twice, it seems crazy to think that Beck has only played 11 professional matches in his entire career, and as a result leaving Liverpool again for a season could be beneficial for the defender rather than another year of youth football.

Interest will be there in Beck, and at the age of 20, the youngster simply has to be playing regular football at a professional level if he is to get the best out of his career, with senior football with Liverpool still a long-way off.
