Liverpool reserve goalkeeper Adrian was left overjoyed at the sight of Luis Diaz dancing onto the training pitch yesterday.
Lucho has been a happy presence at the AXA Training Centre since arriving in January 2022. But having missed a huge chunk of this season through injury, we haven’t seen his beaming smile enough over the course of this campaign.
Thankfully, the 26-year-old is now back infecting his Liverpool teammates with his energy and enthusiasm. On this occasion, as seen on LFCTV’s latest Inside Training video, Diaz can be seen doing a ‘griddy’ dance through the changing room tunnel at the AXA.

Coming up behind him, Adrian lets out a hoot of laughter and points the cameraman in the direction of Diaz. After a big smile and a couple of claps of the hand, the 36-year-old is ready for training.
Great to see Lucho having fun and keeping his teammates smiling.
Lucho brings the good vibes back
What might have been had we been seeing this throughout the whole of this season. The sight of Diaz in training has been all too rare for Liverpool fans in 2022/23.
Now working his way back to full fitness, there have already been some signs as to what we’ve all been missing. A goal against Tottenham and some flashes of the quick feet and brain that made him an instant hit at Anfield.
In many ways for Liverpool it’s a shame that there’s only three games of the campaign left to play. Four or five more and you’d feel certain that they’d catch Manchester United or Newcastle in fourth place.

Four or five more and you feel that Diaz would be properly up to speed heading into the summer break.
But, alas, Liverpool have to work with what they’ve got. As long as their dancing Colombian is back in shape to hit the ground running for pre-season, they’ll be happy.
With Diaz back, a fearsome attack already in place and new midfielders coming through the door, there’ll be a hugely positive air around Liverpool.
In truth, there seems to be good vibes around wherever the former Porto man is. It’s no coincidence that his return has brought the joy back to the Reds’ results and performances. Stay fit now, and there’ll be so much more of that to come. Let’s hope to see him dancing in-front of the Kop once again very soon indeed.
