Liverpool have reportedly identified Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes as a prime target for the summer, alongside the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Mason Mount.
According to the Daily Mail, the Portuguese international remains a key option for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp looks to work alongside incoming sporting director Jorg Schmadtke to improve Liverpool’s squad, with midfield the area that will require the most work.
With a deal for Mac Allister coming along nicely if reports are to be believed, Liverpool know that they will need more than the Argentine international, and Nunes could soon emerge as the second midfield target for the Merseyside giants.

Reportedly valued at £55m, the Wolves midfielder has enjoyed a great first year in the Premier League despite the Molineux side’s struggles throughout the campaign, with Dion Dublin hailing the midfielder as ‘incredible’ earlier in the season.
And Nunes remaining a prime target for Liverpool is an encouraging sign that the 24-year-old could soon be headed to Anfield, with Klopp and Schmadtke ready to wrap up their summer business as early as possible ahead of what could be a huge pre-season.
Liverpool have to sign Nunes as soon as possible

Nunes has been linked with a move to Liverpool for what feels like forever, and this latest update could hint that a transfer might actually be on the cards with Schmadtke seemingly on the same page as Klopp over signing the Wolves superstar.
As a result, the Reds simply have to get a deal done for Nunes over the line as quickly as possible, with Liverpool already off the mark in a bid to bring Mac Allister to Merseyside. The Portuguese star will have to follow shortly after, and the duo could solve a midfield issue that has caused some serious problems of late.
