Liverpool transfer target Ansu Fati has now been told that he can leave Barcelona.

That is according to the latest transfer report, which was released by 90Mins

Barca are trying to raise the money to sign Lionel Messi back, and feel that Fati could be a valuable member of their squad to sell.

Fati was once considered to be Barcelona’s next big thing – but he hasn’t quite been able to live up to the early promise yet.

That being said, it is still quite clear that the 20-year-old has a huge amount of potential, hence the links with Liverpool.

It was initially back in February when Ben Jacobs reported that the Reds were keen to take the ‘amazing’ attacker to Anfield.

Since then talks haven’t really progressed, but interest at Liverpool may just be piqued by the news of Fati’s availability.

Liverpool actually aren’t mentioned as a potential destination for the Spaniard in 90 Mins’ latest report, but West Ham and Wolves are the two clubs seemingly front running for him at the moment.

That being said, the chance to sign such a talent at the age of 20 is likely to be one which the Reds at least consider.

Fati’s big problem in recent years has been staying off the treatment table.

The youngster just hasn’t been able to get a run of games and that has really halted his progress.

On his day, though, he has a huge amount of talent – which was shown when he broke into Barcelona’s first-team set up at the age of 16.

If Fati was to arrive at Liverpool, he would help to bolster an attack which is already stacked with talent.

And that may actually be one issue which puts Liverpool off.

With the Reds looking so desperately in need of additions in midfield, and possibly defence, spending part of their budget on another front player may not be the wisest use of money.

And it could be that Liverpool do let the opportunity pass them by this summer, despite seemingly being interested in the deal a few months ago.
