Arthur Melo has now confirmed himself that he will not be at Liverpool next season.

Speaking to goal.com, Arthur says he wants one last game at Liverpool to say goodbye.

However, even that seems unlikely for the Brazilian midfielder – given that Jurgen Klopp has barely ever selected him since he arrived on Merseyside.

“Next season I see it with good eyes,” he said.

“It will be decisive in my career and I am working very well. I’m looking forward to showing this new version of Arthur. Hopefully I have an option to say goodbye in Liverpool by playing something, to say goodbye to my team-mates, the technical committee and the fans, who have been very good to me.”

The end for Arthur

Arthur will likely be forgotten about around Liverpool in future years, unfortunately.

His loan spell has been unsuccessful for everyone involved.

The Juventus man was brought in to bolster Liverpool’s midfielder ranks, but injury has curtailed his progress and he never really looked like having an impact.

More recently, Arthur has barely even been included in Liverpool’s squads, let alone been able to make it on to the pitch.

That being said, the 26-year-old has conducted himself with great professionalism during his time at Anfield and is well regarded among the Liverpool staff.

Quite where Arthur will end up next remains to be seen.

His career has really stalled in recent years, with Juventus and Liverpool both not seeing him as a regular starter.

And he will surely be looking to find a club who will guarantee him game time, when he does inevitably move on again in the next few months.
