Chris Sutton predicts who’s going to win tomorrow – Liverpool or Brentford

Chris Sutton has backed Brentford to come out on top as they head to Anfield to take on Liverpool tomorrow.

Liverpool are in the midst of a five-game winning streak, reigniting their chances of a top-four finish. But speaking to BBC Sport, Sutton has claimed that Brentford will have too much for them.

“Liverpool’s attack is firing at the moment and I really like the look of their forward line,” he began. “They need to win every game to have a chance of getting in the Champions League next season, but even Reds boss Jurgen Klopp feels it is unlikely they will make it from here.

“I don’t even think they will beat Brentford, to be honest, because the Bees look like they are back on it after having a bit of of a blip a few weeks ago. The way Thomas Frank’s side came back late on to beat Nottingham Forest last week was a sign they are not on their holidays yet and they have made a habit of upsetting the big clubs this season.

“Brentford deservedly beat Liverpool in January and I am going with the same outcome here.”

Liverpool looks for Brentford revenge

Brentford may have beaten Liverpool the last time the two sides met, but this is a very different Reds side. Back then, the team looked dishevelled, demoralised and were there for the taking.

Four months on and Liverpool have got the bit between their teeth again. They haven’t been brilliant in the last two games, but they’ve still won them both.

At Anfield, where they’ve only lost once in the past two years, it’s a bold, bold prediction from Sutton to say the away side will win.

That isn’t to say Liverpool will find the going easy. As the pundit points out, Thomas Frank’s side have been a thorn in the side of the top teams all season and have won their last two.

The Bees will be motivated, a win here would move them within 6 points of Liverpool with three games to go. On paper, they can still catch Jurgen Klopp’s side in the table.

A Reds win would put them out of reach though, and no matter what Sutton says, we’re going with a Liverpool win.
