Here are our Liverpool player ratings vs Brentford after a shocking display from the Reds. This was very, very bad.
Liverpool put in a terrible performance on Monday as they lost 3-1 to Brentford. The Reds started the game horrendously, struggling to perform basic defending.
And it just got worse in the first half as Brentford were gifted routine chances. In fact, Liverpool were fortunate that the hosts were offside on a couple of occasions in what was a shocking display.
With all of that in mind, here are our player ratings.
Liverpool player ratings vs Brentford
Alisson – 8
Conceded twice but would have been far more if not for Alisson. A common theme this season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8
You can criticise him for Brentford’s second but the right-back had two players to mark. Other than that moment, his defending was strong. His cross for Liverpool’s goal was outstanding.

Ibrahima Konaté – 4
Incredibly unlucky on the opener but awful on Brentford’s third.
Virgil van Dijk – 4
Van Dijk had a couple of awful first-half moments in what was possibly his worst 45 in a Liverpool shirt. He still managed a few key interceptions, naturally, but this was a worry.
Kostas Tsimikas – 3
Just couldn’t handle Brentford down his side and some of his passes were bizarre. One cross-field pass – or attempt at one – was atrocious. Also should have had Liverpool in front but blew his chance.
Fabinho – 7
A decent-enough game and Fabinho looked solid with and without the ball in midfield. One of the better displays from a Liverpool player.
Harvey Elliott – 3
The worst Elliott has played for Liverpool. Struggled to make anything happen on the ball and his dummy before Brentford’s second was brainless.
Thiago – 6
Thiago’s passing wasn’t on point tonight and he couldn’t quite keep the tempo going. An off day rather than a shocker.
Mohamed Salah – 5

Liverpool just couldn’t get him into the game. It’s happened at times this season and they suffered badly for it tonight.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8
Got one goal and should have had an assist, too, if Tsimikas had scored. It’s a shame no one else could produce as he did.
Darwin Nunez – 5
A constant outlet and was very unfortunate to be offside when he did find the net. But made some awful decisions and offside-effort aside, didn’t get his usual chances.
Subs
Andy Robertson – 7

Upped the tempo immediately once he got on and made a real difference. Liverpool were better with him on the pitch.
Joel Matip – 7
As above, really. Matip was solid in the second half and didn’t do much wrong.
Naby Keita – 5
Offered little and gave the ball away for the third Brentford goal. Just not good enough.
Curtis Jones – N/A
