Klopp makes two changes, £45m man ruled out after ‘knock’ emerges: Liverpool’s predicted XI vs Spurs

Liverpool have the chance to win a fourth Premier League game in a row for the first time this season tomorrow.

Tottenham Hotspur are the side standing in their way as the Reds being a run of three home games on the spin. Ryan Mason’s side are a point ahead of Liverpool and a win would represent a massive result for either side’s European ambitions.

Jurgen Klopp has a couple of decisions to make after coming through a battle against West Ham United on Wednesday. Here’s the XI we expect him to put out at Anfield.

Defence

Alisson Becker has played every minute of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign and will continue that run on Sunday.

In-front of him will be the Reds’ most influential player of recent weeks – Trent Alexander-Arnold. Another chance to see Trent in all his glory as he reprises his new midfield role. We can’t wait.

At centre-back we expect Ibrahima Konate to return having sat out of the trip to West Ham. Virgil van Dijk will continue alongside the Frenchman, with Andy Robertson retaining his place at left-back.

Midfield

Now, we’d just like to say for this one, that this is what we think Jurgen will do, not what we’d personally choose. If it were up to us, we’d certainly restore Thiago Alcantara to the line-up after four games coming off the bench.

But unfortunately, we don’t think the boss will see things the same way. Having watched the trio of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones do so well over the last four games, we don’t see Klopp changing things. They’ll all likely go again.

Attack

Left to his own devices, we think Jurgen would also choose to send out an unchanged forward line for the fourth game in succession.

But as news emerged yesterday of a ‘knock’ to Diogo Jota, we think he’ll simply have to change it. It’s unfortunate for Jota – the £45m man has been in decent form – but Liverpool shouldn’t take a risk.

Instead, it would be good to see Darwin Nunez brought back in for a first start in a while.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo deserves to build on his excellent recent performances and Mohamed Salah will line up on the right. Come on Liverpool, let’s keep the momentum going!
