Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has sent teammate Luis Diaz a message after he made his long-awaited return from injury against Leeds United.
After six months on the sidelines, the Colombian came off the bench for the final nine minutes at Elland Road last night.
By then, the Reds had already secured an emphatic victory, in which they put six past the relegation-threatened side.
Taking to Twitter after the game, Diaz shared his delight at making his return from injury.
“So happy to be back. Amazing 3 points,” he posted.
Ecstatic for his friend, Salah sent a reply, sharing his love with two hearts and a bicep emoji.
Diaz makes Liverpool return
Before he sustained his injury, Diaz was probably Liverpool’s best player this season (aside from Alisson Becker).
When the Reds looked extremely poor going forward, the 26-year-old was the one to drag the team out of their rut.
Therefore, his injury came as a huge blow to Klopp, as his side had otherwise run out of ideas in the final third.
However, with the £37m attacker now raring to get back, the manager will have a tough decision on his hands.
Cody Gakpo seems to have secured his place down the middle as a false-nine, so that leaves the left-sided position available.
Here, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are already competing for the spot, so adding Diaz to the mix creates heavy competition.
