Jamie Carragher has claimed Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez is completely unorthodox in the way that he’s not a natural goalscorer.
Speaking on analysis for Sky Sports (as shared by Football Daily) after the Reds’s 6-1 annihilation of Leeds United, the Anfield legend spoke of the 23-year-old missing out on a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
“I think sometimes when he goes through and he has that time to think about it, I don’t think anyone really feels confident he’s going to finish,” said Carragher.
“Away at Newcastle, he brought it down and he just hit it. And even then, I was thinking, ‘I can’t believe he’s hit that so quickly’.
“But that’s the type of thing he does, he’ll shoot from anywhere – gets lots of shots off.
“But I think that’s just him. You know, he’s never going to be a clinical finisher, I don’t think. I might be wrong.”

It’s very difficult to judge Nunez as an attacker, as he certainly is different to what Liverpool have had before.
We think Klopp hasn’t used the Uruguayan in his best position recently, so that hasn’t helped get the best out of him.
On the left, he does cause damage, but that pace and physicality could easily tear Premier League centre-backs apart.
However, by no means has Nunez been a disappointment. In fact, he looks incredibly bright every time he plays.
In 37 appearances for Liverpool, he has bagged 15 times – showing he is more than adequate in front of goal.
Although, it is what he creates for the team which makes him stand out. Overall, we think he’s been a great signing for the club.
