Liverpool and Manchester United lead the interest in signing Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer, according to journalist César Luis Merlo.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that both Jurgen Klopp’s and Erik ten Hag’s sides are set to hold talks with the Argentine’s representatives soon.

Taking to Twitter, Merlo has shared a further update on the situation, revealing the Gunners’s interest in the 24-year-old is yet to reach the level of their Premier League rivals.
“Manchester United and Liverpool are the clubs that are bidding the most to stay with Alexis Mac Allister, who will surely leave Brighton in the middle of the year,” he wrote.
“Arsenal are monitoring him, but he is not advancing firmly for now. What is done will be with the consensus of his current club.”
Liverpool and United lead interest in Mac Allister
As Klopp looks to overhaul his midfield this summer, we think Mac Allister would be a brilliant addition to his squad.
In the middle of the park for Brighton, the World Cup winner has been a crucial playmaker, having managed to score ten goals in 30 games this season.
His versatility across the midfield is certainly admired by the Merseyside outfit, but it is his creative link-up with the forward line which makes us most intrigued by his potential arrival.

Rumoured to cost around £70m, Mac Allister would take up a decent chunk of the summer budget.
However, we believe he would be a worthy investment, as he is a Premier League proven talent who could take Liverpool’s midfield to the next level.
