Liverpool are set to hold a meeting with the representatives of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Taking to Twitter, the reporter shared a new update on the 24-year-old’s future, after he’s been linked with numerous Premier League teams ahead of the summer.
“Understand Alexis Mac Allister and his camp consider summer move as 100% guaranteed,” wrote Romano.
“The expectation is for an early transfer.
“Alexis will give his best for Brighton until June.
“Liverpool and Man United will discuss with player side soon.”
According to FootballTransfers, Brighton value the Argentina international at around £70m.
Liverpool to hold talks with Mac Allister soon
As part of a midfield rebuild, Mac Allister would be an excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
At Brighton this season, the Argentine has more than impressed in the Premier League. In 26 matches thus far, the 24-year-old has bagged eight goals – showing a keen eye for goal in the middle of the park.
This has been lacking in Liverpool’s midfield lately, so a move for Mac Allister would demonstrate an attacking sign of intent.
Although it’s been suggested the Seagulls would want £70m to depart with their World Cup winner, the player’s desire to leave should play into the Reds’s hands.
However, with keen interest from various big clubs, this won’t be the easiest transfer to get over the line.
