Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has spoken out on his heated exchange with captain Jordan Henderson which took place during the stalemate against Chelsea.

Towards the end of the game, Joel Matip made a poor headed clearance – presenting Joao Felix with a chance on goal.

After failing to convert, the skipper was furious with his shot-stopper, appearing to accuse him of not communicating with the centre-back.

The Brazil international responded angrily, and the two players were seen in each other’s faces until Henderson walked away.

Addressing the situation with ESPN Brasil after the match, the 30-year-old claimed the Liverpool pair held no hard feelings towards each other.

“Me and Henderson, we are two people who fight, who give our lives for their team,” said Alisson.

“And on the field there is no way to ask ‘please’.

“So sometimes it seems that the mood is high, but it’s two people trying to fix it, do things in the best way for the team and try to help.”

Alisson clears the air over Henderson exchange

At the time, many Liverpool fans were furious with Henderson’s reaction.

They took issue with the fact that he was criticising Alisson’s display, despite the fact he has been the Reds’s best player this season.

Some were quick to point out the captain’s shortcomings this term, amid calls he shouldn’t be near the starting XI.

However, the Brazilian was quick to put the exchange to bed.

Luckily he took it in good spirits, as we can’t have our no.1 out of form – he’s the only reason Liverpool sit in the top-half of the table.

If he took this any other way, things could go have gone from bad to worse for Jurgen Klopp.
