Jose Enrique claims Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is so much better than Kostas Tsimikas now

Former Liverpool player Jose Enrique has claimed Andy Robertson is so much better than Kostas Tsimikas.

With the Scotsman losing his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up tonight, the ‘Greek scouser’ started at left-back.

However, the 26-year-old struggled from the off, and he was subsequently substituted for the regular first choice option in the 66th minute.

Having witnessed a poor start from Tsimikas, Enrique took to Twitter to share his frustration at the criticism of Robertson.

“Stop comparing Kostas with Robertson, thanks,” wrote the Spaniard.

“When I say this, [it] is because Robertson is on another level – not the other way around.”

Enrique says Robertson is better than Tsimikas

Robertson certainly didn’t cover himself in glory against Manchester City at the weekend.

He was massively out of position for the opposition’s first goal, and his performance failed to improve as the game progressed.

Subsequently, he was benched tonight against Chelsea, but the incoming Tsimikas hardly looked any better himself.

His passing of the ball was sloppy, and he looked wildly off the pace.

Since the Scotland captain joined Liverpool in 2017 in a deal worth £8m, he has proven to be an absolute hero at Anfield.

Time and time again, he has demonstrated why he is renowned as one of the best full-backs in European football.

Therefore, it’s probably wise that Klopp sticks with him in the long-term, over Tsimikas.
