Manchester City fans were heard chanting at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp during their 4-1 victory at the Etihad today.
After a somewhat promising start thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah, the Reds went into half-time with the score 1-1.
However, it was after the break when things started to really fall apart for the Merseyside outfit.
Within just eight minutes of the restart, Liverpool had already conceded twice.
Another 20 minutes later and Jack Grealish had put the game to bed with City’s fourth.
What City fans chanted at Klopp
With City in full flow, their fans were enjoying themselves inside the Etihad.
After years of competition, the supporters were revelling in Liverpool’s downfall.
“Sacked in the morning,” they chanted at Klopp, after the fourth goal went in (as relayed by BBC Sport).
Although they knew this would never be the case, as Klopp is obviously an ‘incredible’ manager, they continued to rub salt in the German’s wounds.
The Reds now sit eighth in the Premier League table, as City now climb eight points within Arsenal with a game in-hand.
Champions League qualification seems like a slim possibility now, and it appears Klopp has conceded to that fact.
Liverpool soon play Arsenal, which will be a huge game in the title race. Therefore, perhaps City fans should have kept quiet, as the Reds could get them back in contention, or not, for the Premier League title.
