Pundit Jamie Carragher has blasted Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson for what he kept on doing against Manchester City today.
Taking to Twitter during the game, the Anfield legend singled out the 29-year-old for continually leaving his man in space, which ultimately led to a goal.
“Andy Robertson goes chasing into midfield and leaves his man,” said Carragher.
“It happens a lot – Champions League final.
“You can’t always press!”
Carragher singles out Robertson
Although this has been an issue for a long time now with Robertson, the Scotsman certainly wasn’t the only player culpable for doing this today.
As has also been the case, Trent Alexander-Arnold has a tendency to do the same thing. He often fails to track the opposition attacker, leaving them with far too much space.
In the midfield, both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho failed to close down the opposition – ultimately leading to a number of goals today.
The lack of intensity from the midfield and defence has been extremely worrying, and it doesn’t seem like anything is going to change anytime soon.
Robertson does need to work on his positional play, but so do many other players in the team.
Unsurprisingly, this was another incredibly poor performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side today.
