Liverpool still hope to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes this summer, despite the media’s focus on Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount.
That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who claims the Reds are eyeing a triple midfield swoop at the end of the season.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the reporter suggested the 24-year-old is high up on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer wish-list.
“Liverpool remain keen on Matheus Nunes. He’s a player they appreciate,” said Romano.

“They already discussed Matheus Nunes as a target before he moved to Wolves, so it’s something they already discussed before the Premier League move.
“He remains a player in the list of Liverpool.
“We know there is Jude Bellingham, we know there is Mason Mount – many names for Liverpool’s midfield.
“I would always also include Matheus Nunes because he remains a player appreciated by Liverpool.”
Liverpool hope to sign Nunes
From what we have seen, Liverpool fans have had mixed responses to the club’s interest in Nunes.
Prior to joining Wolves, the Anfield faithful would have probably been more receptive to the idea, due to his exciting potential.
However, one year down the line, this may not be the case.
Having played 24 matches in the Premier League this season, Nunes hasn’t set the division alight.

Although he has put a number of impressive performances in, SofaScore statistically rank the Portugal international as Wolves’s 14th best player this term.
Having to adjust to a new league, this isn’t necessarily a fair metric to go off – especially in a team fighting for Premier League survival.
Other supporters have been impressed by the midfielder’s technical ability on the ball.
In Jurgen Klopp’s system, we think he would do really well, as he has all the attributes needed to succeed.
Whether he arrives is another story, with the club also intent at landing Bellingham and Mount at Anfield.
