Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is interested in joining Bayern Munich this summer, despite being linked with a move to Liverpool.

That’s according to The Guardian, who claim the 24-year-old would consider reuniting with his former manager, Thomas Tuchel, at his new club in Germany.

The uncertainty over the England international’s contract at Chelsea remains, so there is a very good chance that he will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Despite Mount’s interest in the European giants, the Reds are still touted as the front-runners to secure his services.

Manchester United and Juventus are also said to be keen, whereas the emergence of Bayern is seen as an interesting development.

As soon as Tuchel was announced as Bayern’s new manager, this was always going to be a worrying possibility which would subsequently appear.

As the most successful club in Germany, Mount would be sure to win numerous Bundesliga titles there, also with the chance of regularly making it to the latter rounds of the Champions League.

On the other hand, Liverpool currently look like a shadow of their former selves. This means, in all honesty, they are probably quite a way off from competing for the Premier League title and for European silverware.

The midfielder’s relationship with Tuchel always appeared very strong, so that will surely be an enticing factor when weighing up a move to Munich.

Having been hailed by Joe Cole as an ‘unbelievable’ footballer, Jurgen Klopp won’t want to miss out on Mount, so the club need to do everything they can to land him at Anfield.
