Newcastle United are eyeing a move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, according to football agent Haydn Dodge.
Speaking in an interview with Caught Offside, the behind-the-scenes official has shed light on the Magpies’ interest in the 25-year-old.

“It is quite well known that Newcastle United have long admired defender Joe Gomez, as they look to bolster their centre-half options ahead of several players being out of contract this summer.”
Former Reds player Jose Enrique has claimed he would personally sell the Premier League winner if an offer worth around £25m were to be made.
The Merseyside outfit signed Gomez when he was just 18 years old from Charlton Athletic for just £3.5m.
Gomez receiving interest from Newcastle
By all means, it isn’t unfair to say it hasn’t been Gomez’s best season at Liverpool.
Having come into the team at various points when there have been injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, the 25-year-old has made 29 appearances this term. This even includes 19 matches in the Premier League, and another five in the Champions League.
However, the centre-back has often looked shaky, and he has been responsible on a number of occasions for the Reds conceding.

Some fans have started to call for his place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad, having been frustrated by his lack of form.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Liverpool will choose to cash-in on the player whilst his market value is relatively high, or keep him for a while longer.
