Jose Enrique believes Liverpool could sell Joe Gomez for as much as £25m in the summer, with the defender expected to leave Anfield at the end of this season.
Speaking on his official YouTube channel, the former Liverpool defender claimed that the 25-year-old could fetch a high transfer fee in the window, with Enrique saying on how much Gomez could be worth: “£25 million. He is worth it, for that money. He is 25. He has won everything as well. An amazing age, so maybe it’s time to move on.”
The Spaniard’s estimation of Gomez will come as a surprise to many given how poor the defender has been for the majority of the season, with the former Charlton Athletic star regularly criticised by pundits and supporters for his performances at the back.

And now, there is a growing prospect that Liverpool might sell Gomez this summer, with the Reds keen to overhaul their centre-back options after a year to forget for the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip, who have also looked well below their best this season.
Indeed, whilst £25m might seem outrageous for a player like Gomez, this is Liverpool we’re talking about, who over the years have managed to extract every ounce of value out of names deemed unworthy of the first-team, with Dominic Solanke’s £21m move to AFC Bournemouth the most famous case.
As a result, Gomez could actually go for £25m if Liverpool can find a club interested enough in signing the defender, with such a fee a massive result for the Reds and the player himself given how needed a move is for the 25-year-old centre-back following on from this season.
Liverpool selling Gomez above £20m will be one of the deals of the summer

Liverpool’s transfer dealings have been some of the best in the Premier League in recent memory, and the Reds could add another incredible achievement to their record book if they can sell Gomez for anything close to what Enrique believes the Anfield side could get for the centre-back.
Maximising profit from the sale of Gomez will be key in Liverpool’s plan to rebuild the squad, and receiving an offer of even £20m could be huge for the Reds, with the defender himself likely to be keen on a move away from Anfield at this stage of his career.
