Jude Bellingham has sent Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson a warm response following the latest international break.

The two players linked up for England last week, helping the Three Lions earn wins over Italy and Ukraine. Bellingham started both games, with Henderson joining him in midfield for yesterday’s 2-0 victory against Ukraine.

And following that comfortable win at Wembley, Henderson took to Instagram to thank the England fans for their support.

“Great start to the Euro campaign. Thanks for all the support! See you soon,” wrote the Liverpool man.

A notable face in the replies was none other than Bellingham. He and Henderson have at times appeared inseparable during the various England squads they’ve been a part of. And the younger man’s affection for the Reds skipper is clear, he posted three ‘love heart’ emojis to let Hendo know exactly how he feels. Sweet.

Henderson continues Bellingham mentorship

Whether or not Bellingham ends up joining Liverpool this summer, he appears to have made a great friend in Henderson.

Despite the 13-year age gap between the two players, they look like kindred spirits. Hendo has really taken the prodigious teenager under his wing.

Of course, should Bellingham do what we all hope he will and sign for the Reds, that will bode very well indeed.

With the captain’s support and friendship already secured, he’ll immediately have someone to show him the ropes at Anfield.

It also could help the pair’s on-field relationship. We’ve already seen that demonstrated with England – who could forget Bellingham’s terrific ball for Henderson to open the scoring against Senegal in the World Cup. The thought of that link-up being on show at Anfield next season is a nice one.

There’s been a lot of talk of Bellingham walking the footsteps of Steven Gerrard should he join Liverpool. But he’ll have to walk in Henderson’s first. Thankfully, he’d have the man himself there to help him with those first steps. It all just makes sense, come on Jude, we’re all waiting!
