Jurgen Klopp will hand Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton an opportunity to impress him ahead of next season.
Morton has had an excellent season on-loan at Championship Blackburn Rovers this term. Featuring regularly in a side fighting for promotion, his development has been hugely promising.
And according to The Athletic this morning, that progress is set to be rewarded in the summer. Feedback from Rovers is said to have been ‘really positive.’ As a result, it’s claimed that Klopp’s ‘plan’ is to bring Morton back into the fold for pre-season.
The 20-year-old will reportedly be given chances to show why he should be in Liverpool’s squad for 2023/24.
Whether or not he will be is said to be ‘up to him.’ Catch Jurgen’s eye, and it sounds like there’s every chance Morton will find himself part of Liverpool’s new-look midfield next term.
Door open for Morton at Liverpool
By the sounds of things, the door is very much open for Morton to make his mark at Liverpool.
Given the season he’s had at Blackburn – and the Reds’ obvious need for new blood in midfield – and that’s absolutely the way it should be.

To some fans, this will perhaps be a source of frustration. In a summer where Liverpool need to go big on reshaping the middle of the pitch, some won’t want to see academy players being used to fill those gaps.
In many respects, that’s fair enough. The Reds need to add one, two or maybe even three players who can come in and start for them immediately.
But as Stefan Bajcetic has shown this season, that doesn’t always have to come from outside the club. Morton has shown enough in his short career so far to earn this chance.
Klopp called his displays during last summer ‘incredible.‘ and he’s done really well in the Championship. With a player like that already in-house, it makes sense to take a better look at him. At the very least, he’s another handy option in the squad.
