'It's been perfect': 20-year-old is thrilled with decision Liverpool took this season

Tyler Morton feels his loan deal at Blackburn Rovers has been ‘perfect’. The 20-year-old clearly believes Liverpool got this one spot on.

Tyler Morton joined Blackburn Rovers on loan this season as Liverpool attempted to find him regular senior football. It was always a risk, though.

Harvey Elliott thrived at Blackburn two seasons ago, establishing himself as a wonderkid. But Leighton Clarkson couldn’t get in the team last time out – Rovers exploded into title contenders and didn’t have room for the youngster.

Morton might not quite be hitting Elliott’s levels but he’s certainly established at Blackburn. They sit third in the Championship with dreams of promotion, with the Liverpool youngster starting every week.

Understandably, Morton is thrilled with how things are going. He called his loan deal perfect as he talked to the Lancashire Telegraph.

“For me it’s been perfect so far, I’m really enjoying it at the moment, I’m really happy with how it’s going.

“The gaffer hopefully trusts me, I get that sense that he does, and I’m really enjoying it and I don’t think it could have gone any better.

“But I have a lot still to prove and to do and I’m looking forward to it.”

He’s averaging over a tackle and a key pass every game, operating as a pretty versatile young midfielder. Considering this is his first true senior season, it’s going remarkably well.

Especially as, unlike with Elliott, Blackburn are contending at the top. They’re a real threat for promotion or even the Championship title. Morton certainly doesn’t look out of place at that level, suggesting his ceiling is actually very high.

We can’t wait to see what kind of player arrives back at Liverpool this summer. Morton may just have a future at Anfield after all.
