Barcelona midfielder and reported Liverpool target Gavi has been ranked as one of the best prospects in world football.
As per GOAL, the 18-year-old was included on the 50-player shortlist for the NXGN Awards, which highlights the most promising teenagers with the biggest futures.
This shortlist is then whittled down to an elite group of nine youngsters, who are deemed the very top of their class – and here Gavi was awarded the inaugural honour.

The 2022 Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy winner is already a key figure in Xavi’s side, having already made 84 appearances for the club.
Therefore, the Spain international rightfully deserves his place in NXGN’s final nine.
Liverpool eyeing move for Gavi
According to The Athletic, La Liga will return Gavi’s status to that of a Barcelona academy player, following a long-standing legal dispute over the registration of the contract he signed back in September.
As a result, a release clause allowing him to leave for nothing this summer will now come back into effect.
The Times claim that both Liverpool and Manchester City are ‘keeping an eye’ on the youngster’s situation, as the 18-year-old would be an unbelievable coup on a free transfer.

Former Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has been full of praise for Gavi, once lauding him as an ‘incredible’ player.
Therefore, it’s understandable as to why Jurgen Klopp holds a long-term interest in the teenager.
Consequently, it would be mad if Liverpool didn’t explore a move for him in the summer, as they wouldn’t have to cough up an extortionate fee to land him.
