Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita was spotted back training with the first-team today, after missing the side’s last two matches.
Taking to Twitter, Football Daily have shared a video of the Reds out on the training pitches at Kirkby this morning, undeterred by the snowy weather.
Whilst it is difficult to see who’s training with the team, the 28-year-old can be seen taking part.
Keita was left out of Jurgen Klopp’s matchday squads for the Premier League clashes against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United.
Liverpool Echo journalist Ian Doyle attributed this to a knock – adding to the various injuries the player has suffered from this season.
However, the Guinea international now appears to be nearing full fitness again, with the Reds set to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Keita could return in time for Bournemouth
Whilst it was disappointing to see Keita out injured for the fixtures against Wolves and Man United, it has somewhat become a regular occurrence this term.
The 28-year-old has made just 13 appearances all season, having only featured eight times in the Premier League.
The midfielder sustained separate hamstring and muscle injuries, keeping him out of action for the vast majority of the campaign.
This hasn’t been good timing for the player, as he is out of contract in the summer.
As it stands, Keita isn’t going to be offered a new deal at Anfield. Instead, he is expected to leave the club as a free agent, with numerous teams from abroad interested in his services.
However, whilst he’s still a Liverpool player, he can still do a job for Klopp – starting with Bournemouth away on Saturday.
