Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has sent a message to Mohamed Salah on Twitter after the Egyptian’s record-breaking performance against Manchester United.

Heading into today’s game, the attacker sat second on the Reds’ all-time leaderboard for goals scored in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old had amassed 127, whilst Fowler topped the table with 128. Steven Gerrard brought up the rear in third with 120.

However, an absolutely sensational performance from Liverpool at Anfield today saw a 7-0 humiliation of arch-rivals Man United.

This was partly due to an incredible performance from Salah, for which he was deservedly awarded Man of the Match.

The ‘Egyptian king’ bagged two goals and two assists – bringing his overall total in the English top-flight to 129.

This meant he climbed to the top of the club’s rankings, becoming the Reds’ all-time top-scorer in the Premier League.

After the game, Fowler took to Twitter to send a message to Salah – congratulating him on his incredible record.

From one Liverpool legend to another – we are truly lucky to witness such brilliance at Anfield.

Every single Liverpool player on the pitch today was exceptional.

However, it was Mo who topped the scoring – as it was a truly sensational performance from the king.

From the first whistle being blown, the 30-year-old dominated across the entire final third.

His attacking threat was unmatched, and United’s defence just couldn’t keep up with him.

Hopefully the Reds can maintain this form, as this was their best performance in a long time.

If Liverpool are going to finish in the top-four, this is what we need to see week-in week-out.

But if they can retain this standard, Champions League football will be returning to Anfield next season.
