TalkSPORT pundit says there’s no chance he’d sell Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to fund Jude Bellingham move

TalkSPORT pundit Darren Ambrose says he wouldn’t sell Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to fund a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Speaking on the radio station yesterday, the former Crystal Palace player urged the Reds to keep hold of the Egyptian – rather than selling him on to fund a rebuild of the squad.

“Would you sell Salah, say you got £80m for him, to fund the rebuild with someone in a completely different position?” asked Darren Bent.

“No, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t go down that route and say I’m going to sell him to fund that,” Ambrose replied.

“If I sold him, it would then give me a catalyst, get given that initial money, to say right, we’ve sold our best player, our most attacking threat, our one who’s going to score us the goals and win us the game, so it’s a complete rebuild now.

“So, let’s start with the base, and start with a world-class midfielder in Jude Bellingham for me, or is going to be world-class, … and rebuild from the middle of the park, because that’s the most important.

“I wouldn’t replace Salah with Bellingham, but if that was to happen and you got money, you’d have to start somewhere, and that base of Jude Bellingham would be incredible.”

Salah to Bellingham?

Whilst everyone would love to have the 19-year-old prodigy at Anfield, he shouldn’t arrive at the expense of Salah.

Although it hasn’t been the winger’s best campaign at Liverpool, he still remains as a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s XI.

In 35 matches this season, the Egypt international has bagged 19 goals and nine assists.

This is still a massive output for the Reds; a figure which would be much higher if they were to sign a player like Bellingham.

The England international would be the perfect addition to Liverpool’s midfield, as he would add huge quality both offensively and defensively.

Salah, who cost the club just £34m, would benefit from the teenager’s arrival massively, so there’s no chance Klopp would part ways with the winger in order to sign the midfielder.
