'World-class' player can see himself at Liverpool, he's interested in joining this summer

Liverpool target Jude Bellingham is far from put off by the Reds struggles in the Premier League this season.

Bellingham remains Liverpool’s top target to refresh their midfield over the summer transfer window. But with several top sides jostling to sign him, there’s been worry that the Reds’ poor form could cost them his signature.

Well, according to journalist Christian Falk, supporters needn’t worry about that. Writing for Caught Offside today, Falk claims that Bellingham may in fact see Liverpool’s difficulties as all the more reason to join them.

“I heard that Jude Bellingham is keeping a very close eye on what Liverpool are doing at the moment. I’ve been told nobody should think he’s a player that wouldn’t go to Liverpool because of the difficult situation they’re in,” explained the German reporter.

“It’s the other way around – he’s actually the kind of guy who would love to go to a club where he can change their fortunes. At Liverpool, he sees that the club is in need of him and that he can build something there, so that’s why the side remains an interesting option for him.

“As you see in the Premier League, they’re not massively far away from the Champions League places but it’s important to note that Champions League qualification isn’t a deal-breaker for Bellingham. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt Liverpool’s chances!”

Bellingham ready to lead Reds rebuild

This is a point that has really been hammered home recently, but is always welcome to hear. It’s great that Bellingham seemingly sees the bigger picture in regard to joining Liverpool.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something you see players do a lot. Whether it’s agents in their ear or whatever, the second a side starts underperforming, top players start to steer clear of them. In actuality, those with most quality should back themselves to haul a big club back to the perch they belong at.

Thankfully, it appears that Bellingham does indeed have that mentality. Along with his footballing ability and profile, that should make him a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.

Of course, he wouldn’t be leading the Reds rebuild all alone. The presence of stars like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo mean that Klopp has a new generation of top quality stars coming through.

Should Bellingham join though, he would undoubtedly be the new figurehead of that rebuild. Labelled ‘world-class’ by England teammate Kieran Trippier, he has the potential to be a truly transformative player for Liverpool.

It is still far from certain that Anfield is where the 19-year-old will end up playing his football next season. But by the sounds of it, there isn’t all that much that can stop Liverpool securing their top target now.
