Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea defender and Brighton loanee Levi Colwill, according to GOAL.
As per Neil Jonesâ report, the Reds greatly admire the 20-year-old, who is spending the Premier League season on loan with the Seagulls.
The Merseyside outfit could look to make an approach in the summer as they hope to add quality options at centre-back to Jurgen Kloppâs squad.
However, given the rivalry between Liverpool and Chelsea â with both clubs expected to compete for a spot in the top-four next year, this makes the domestic switch a hard task for Julian Wardâs recruitment team.
Colwill isnât the only Blues player on the Redsâ radar at the moment. Kloppâs side have been regularly linked with a move for Mason Mount, who is currently at a halt with his contract negotiations at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool interested in Colwill
Since making the step up to senior football, Colwill has demonstrated his huge talent and massive potential.
Last season, he was sent out on loan to Championship club Huddersfield Town. There he made 29 appearances in the second division, proving to be instrumental to the sideâs success. As a result, the Terriers made it all the way to play-off final, before losing to Nottingham Forest.
Having impressed in the Championship, the youngster earned a loan move to Premier League outfit Brighton.
After struggling to make it into the team at the beginning of the campaign, the centre-back was awarded a spot in the starting XI.
However, after a number of strong performances, he suffered a muscle injury in January â and he hasnât played since.
Despite this, Colwill has demonstrated he is more than good enough to play in the top-flight.
Liverpool are thus keen on the defender, as his potential has a very high ceiling.
Although itâs unlikely, the Reds will be hoping for a double swoop in the summer â with Mount also arriving at Anfield.
