Jamie Carragher says attacker Liverpool reportedly want is the 'most exciting player in Europe'

Reported Liverpool transfer target Khivcha Kvaratskhelia is the most exciting player in Europe right now.

That’s the view of former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher. Speaking to CBS Sports Golazo during their Champions League coverage last night, Carragher suggested that the Napoli man wouldn’t be out of place at Real Madrid.

“I think he’s the most exciting player in Europe,” said the pundit. “You could see him in a Real Madrid shirt next season.”

Kvarastkhelia once again caught the eye last night, claiming an assist as Napoli beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0. The 22-year-old did blot his copybook with a missed penalty, though.

Kvaratskhelia fires Napoli to new heights

Ever since he burst onto the scene this season, Kvaratskhelia has been linked with Liverpool. From early comparisons to Mohamed Salah, to inevitable reports that the Reds want to sign him.

Unfortunately though, it looks like ‘Kvaradona’ will be well out of Liverpool’s reach this summer.

Even if Napoli do intend to cash in on the superstar they’ve created, plenty will be ahead of them in the queue. As Carragher mentions, Real Madrid could be one of those.

Without an immediate need to sign another forward, much less one that could cost around £90m, Liverpool will probably be outgunned.

That hasn’t stopped the links from coming, though.

Should they pull off the most unlikeliest of deals, Kvaratskhelia would be one heck of a signing. Fast, direct and with an eye for goal, he’s been pretty unstoppable all season.

His brilliance is a large part of the reason Napoli look set to end a 33-year wait for the Scudetto this season.

If they carry on the way they are, they could well end up with a Champions League trophy, too. Should all that come to pass, Kvaratskhelia would become deified in the South of Italy. There’s no way he leaves then. For now, it’s just great to watch him do his thing.
