Liverpool continue to be interested in signing Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who report that the Italian side are moving ahead with a new contract for the Georgian.
This reportedly comes as a direct retaliation to interest from Liverpool, as well as Tottenham Hotspur. Both sides are said to ‘like a lot’ what they’ve seen from Kvaratskhelia this season.
The contract is claimed to be valid until 2028 and will double the 21-year-old’s wages. Napoli are reportedly on excellent terms with Kvaratskhelia’s agent, and will offer him a new deal worth £1.8m per year.

Napoli scramble to stave off Liverpool interest
This new contract has been in the works for Kvaratskhelia for a little while. Napoli soon realised they’d got themselves a gem this season, and are scrambling to protect against a move from the Premier League’s big boys.
It seems inevitable that the flying winger will get his move sooner or later, though.
He really has been one of the standout performers in all of Europe this season. Not only has Kvaratskhelia done the business in Serie A, but he’s been excellent in the Champions League, too.
One of his slightly quieter displays in that competition came at Anfield against Liverpool in November.

Even then, Jurgen Klopp praised him after the match – calling him ‘really quick’ having seen his battle with Trent Alexander-Arnold up close.
For his speed, and for other reasons, Napoli have reportedly place an £87m price-tag on his head [Goal]. However, directors have also suggested that even that may not be enough to get him. For now, at least, it seems that he’s simply not for sale.
Armed with a six-and-a-half-year contract, that seems unlikely to change any time soon.
But if Kvaratskhelia keeps on going the way he has been, no contract will stop Europe’s elite from trying their luck in the future. He looks like he’ll be worth the wait.
