Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has named Divock Origi as the best finisher heās played alongside in his career.
Mane has played with some great goal scorers throughout his career ā Mohamed Salah anyone? But asked to name the very best of all by 11teamsports on TikTok, the Bayern Munich man surprisingly named Origi.
Elsewhere, the only Liverpool representation was in the form of Reds captain Jordan Henderson. Mane named the 32-year-old as the best leader heād come across during the last 15 years.
In categories such as speed, intelligence and dribbling, Sadio went with his current Bayern teammates. Donāt let the Liverpool dressing room see this!
Origi failing to fire in Milan
For those paying attention, this shouldnāt be all that much of surprise. Jurgen Klopp even said the same himself during last season.
Despite his failure to nail down a spot in the Liverpool XI after his Ā£10m arrival, he was clearly highly rated behind the scenes. That unfortunately hasnāt translated into enough goals, though.
You could see during his years at Anfield that Origi knew where the back of the net was. But for one reason or another, this was never enough to keep him in Kloppās team.
Still, 41 goals in 175 games isnāt an all together terrible record, especially when you consider that most of Divockās game time was off the bench.
Since leaving Liverpool last summer though, Origiās output has fallen off a cliff.
Seen as an astute signing on a free transfer for AC Milan, the 27-year-old simply hasnāt got going in Italy.
Injuries have been a recurring issue for Origi, but two goals in 20 appearances isnāt good enough. With Milan struggling to hit the heights of last season, the Belgian hasnāt been a reliable back-up to Olivier Giroud.
Again though, a lot of Divockās opportunities have been coming on at the end of games. If they decide to put him on a bit more, they might reap the benefits. Just ask Sadio.
