Liverpool could sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
As per the report, the France international is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and there’s a possibility he could leave the Serie A as a free agent.
The Reds are listed as a potential suitor. Having named a few clubs, the report then states, “watch out for Liverpool” – as Anfield could be the player’s destination.
It is said that the 27-year-old will make a decision over his future at the end of the season.
Rabiot has previously shared his desire to someday play in the Premier League.
Liverpool could sign Rabiot for free
Jurgen Klopp’s squad desperately needs an overhaul this summer.
With the vast majority of the budget hopefully going on Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, Liverpool will presumably be left with little funds – especially if Fenway Sports Group are still in charge.
Therefore, players who can arrive on free transfers, like Rabiot, could be brilliant options for the Merseyside outfit.
Juventus are seriously struggling this season, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Frenchman opt to move somewhere else in the summer.
Having really impressed at the World Cup with Les Bleus, he certainly won’t be short of suitors.
Whilst out in Qatar, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate hailed his international teammate, claiming he was a ‘key player’ for France, as he contributed heavily both offensively and defensively.
Furthermore, he also received huge plaudits from the press. Most impressively, he was lauded by sports commentator T.N. Raghu as ‘sensational’ for his World Cup displays.
Therefore, if Klopp can lure him to Anfield this summer, this would be shrewd business by the club.
