Liverpool are now interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg youngster Luka Sucic, according to FootballTransfers.
As per the report, the attacking midfielder is among the Reds’ transfer targets for the summer.
The Merseyside outfit have drafted up a preliminary list of players they could target once the season is over, and the 20-year-old has been identified as a possible arrival.
Conversations have been held internally at Kirkby about Sucic, but the Croatia international is one of many options.
It is believed the Salzburg star has a low release clause – somewhere between £13.4m – £17.8m.
Liverpool also hold an interest in Khephren Thuram, of Nice, and Kouadio Kone, of Borussia Monchengladbach.
Liverpool interested in signing Sucic
The Reds are completely set on going all out and signing Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in the summer.
However, as evidently demonstrated this season, Jurgen Klopp’s side need numerous midfield additions.
Therefore, with the vast majority of the budget likely going on Bellingham, this won’t leave much money left to land other players with.
Therefore, Sucic – who is expected to cost less than £20m – could be a brilliant signing for Liverpool.
At 20 years old, he has already made 58 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga; during which he has bagged nine goals and nine assists.
Hailed for his excellent range of passes, as well as his ability to dribble forward and shoot, Sucic has earned comparisons to Real Madrid maestro Luka Modric. This is probably because they’re both Croatian, but the youngster certainly shows signs of a similar playstyle in the middle of the park.
Lauded by talent scout Jacek Kulig as a ‘superb midfielder’, this could be a shrewd signing for Liverpool, due to his exciting potential and his affordable price-tag.
