Former Reds goalkeeper David James has lauded Borussia Dortmund star and Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham.
Speaking on The Football Show for Sky Sports, as shared by Football Daily, the pundit was full of praise for the 19-year-old, who Jurgen Klopp is desperate to land at Anfield this summer.
“Everything about him is top-drawer; performance-wise, character-wise,” James said.
“He will be relishing the opportunity to play in this game and do well.
“And whether he ends up in the Premier League in the summer remains to be seen.
“But there will be no question that he will be out to win these games.”
Dortmund welcome Chelsea to Signal Iduna Park tonight as they clash in the round of 16 in the Champions League.
The Reds will be watching on closely as they continue to monitor their number one target for the summer.
James full of praise for Bellingham
Having gone unbeaten in all competitions for six matches, Dortmund will be hoping to exploit Chelsea’s poor run of form tonight.
Bellingham is expected to play a key role in Edin Terzic’s XI, having been pivotal in getting the Bundesliga outfit through to the knockout stages of the tournament.
Incredibly as a central midfielder, the England international managed to bag four goals in the five group games he played in the competition, for which he has statistically ranked as the side’s best player.
Further topping the leader board for the German top-flight as well, Bellingham certainly is an incredible prospect.
Hailed by The Telegraph as a ‘teenage sensation’, it’s obvious as to why Klopp is so keen to add him to his midfield this summer.
As a 19 year old, he will be able to play at the top level for over a decade, meaning a potential rebuild could be based around the former Birmingham City star.
