Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is now hesitating with his decision of whether he should join Liverpool in the summer or look elsewhere to the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
That’s according to SPORT1 journalist Patrick Berger, who recently spoke on the Mein Sports podcast.
With the Reds currently sat tenth in the Premier League table, it would appear the 19-year-old is having a few doubts about a potential move to Anfield.
As a result, the player will wait and see what the club plan to do to get back on track, before he makes a final decision.
Bellingham needs reassurances the Reds will be able to challenge at the top level again, as he’s ‘hesitant’ to join a team struggling in tenth place.
Bellingham hesitant to join Liverpool
Real Madrid reportedly believe the England international is Premier League bound, with the two suitors most regularly touted being Liverpool and Man City.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side struggling enormously this season, this could indicate the Sky Blues have now emerged as the front-runners in the race.
Although it was suggested City’s pursuit of Bellingham could come crashing down due to their alleged financial breaches, Pep Guardiola’s club still plan to go all out for the Dortmund superstar.
As a final verdict is unlikely to be reached anytime soon, with the trial possibly taking a number of years, City could be unaffected in the market for seasons to come.
Therefore, if Liverpool don’t get their act together imminently, there’s a real possibility they could miss out on signing Klopp’s no.1 target.
Fabrizio Romano claims he will cost at least £107m, so hopefully the Reds can convince Bellingham he will lead the side as their marquee player for years to come.
