Jamie O'Hara says there's no chance 'unbelievable' player will sign for Liverpool now

There’s absolutely no chance that Liverpool will be able to sign Jude Bellingham this summer.

That’s the view of TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara. The former Tottenham midfielder believes the Reds will be disappointed in their pursuit of their top transfer target.

“I just don’t think Liverpool can get Jude Bellingham. I know they keep talking about it, maybe last season when they were fighting on all fronts to win things, yes,” O’Hara began.

“But not now. Why would Bellingham go there? He can pick from all of the top five or six football clubs in the world.

“If Liverpool are not in the Champions League and they’re playing the way they are, forget Jude Bellingham. He is not signing for Liverpool football club.

“I don’t care what you offer him or give his Dad. It isn’t happening!”

Liverpool’s poor form leaves them sweating

Only time will tell whether or not Liverpool’s downturn in form will affect Bellingham’s decision this summer.

But one thing’s for sure; the Reds will be sweating. It has been claimed that missing out on Champions League football won’t factor into the 19-year-old’s choice. But there’s no way that it doesn’t harm Liverpool’s chances to some degree at least.

Should Liverpool leave the Bellingham race empty-handed, there will be an outpouring of anger at Anfield. That wouldn’t necessarily be about losing out on the player himself, though. Yes, he’s an ‘unbelievable’ player, but there will be others out there who can also improve the Reds.

Instead, it will be against the Liverpool owners and their transfer policy. The pursuit of Bellingham is reportedly why the Reds didn’t enter the market for a midfielder for several windows.

As a result, FSG have effectively bombed this whole season. If they then miss out on the Borussia Dortmund player because of that, there will be a certain amount of irony to admire.

Right now, it appears as though they are still leading the chase to get their main. As O’Hara says though, they’re becoming less attractive as each week passes. Perhaps a big performance against Real Madrid in a couple of weeks can serve as a reminder of what Liverpool can offer Bellingham.
