Pundit claims Liverpool have something ‘unique’ that Jude Bellingham will love

Liverpool’s style of football will help them secure Jude Bellingham, regardless of where they finish in the Premier League this season.

That’s the view of TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan. Speaking on the radio station last night, Jordan gave his take on why Liverpool were so inactive in the January transfer window.

“If we’re led to believe what we’re led to believe, all their energy and economic resources are going to be deployed into buying Jude Bellingham in the summer,” said the pundit. “Some would argue they need a lot more than that but he’s a massive part of the regeneration that Liverpool clearly need.”

Put to him that failing to secure Champions League football next season would be a stumbling block in signing Bellingham, Jordan disagreed.

“Liverpool have a uniqueness about them, so does Klopp,” he said. “What they’ve achieved in recent years and the way they’ve played, and people won’t like this – certainly Man City fans won’t like this – the team that I’ve always wanted to watch is Liverpool. Because they’re so feral, so dynamic, so explosive. I understand that Man City are a beautiful work of art and watching football played by Man City is a pleasure, but there’s something more dynamic about Liverpool.

“So, I’ve enjoyed watching them more than Man City. That will also reverberate with certain players I think if Klopp clicks into gear and if the board click into gear around Bellingham and others then Liverpool will be back in good nick. I know your point that if Liverpool don’t get top four how do they get Bellingham, but I think Liverpool Football Club sells itself.”

Jude the perfect fit at Liverpool

It’s certainly true that Bellingham’s new club’s style of football will be taken into account by the player and his team. It seems as though every thing that can be considered is being considered to make the best choice for his career.

Part of that would surely be how he can fit into the team he decides to join. Unfortunately, the Liverpool of right now bear no resemblance to the one that Jordan is describing. In fact, the Reds are the polar opposite of the words he uses to colour them with.

But the important thing to remember is that our Jurgen is still steering the ship. Everyone knows what a Klopp team looks like at its best. It’s one of the most distinctive styles of the 21st Century. When the German has the players he wants all firing together, there’s no mistaking what you’re watching..

With Bellingham’s all-action, all-running style, you’d think he’d slot in perfectly as a player to build around. As Jordan points out, this is different to City, where he’d perhaps have to become a more passing, creative player.

At Real Madrid, the other great contender for the 19-year-old, who knows. Carlo Ancelotti has never been synonymous with a style of play, more with bringing sides containing great players into harmony with each other. You can see why this would appeal to Bellingham.

But then again, Don Carlo won’t be there too much longer. Who can say what tactics a new coach will employ, or indeed how long that will be for. So, on the face of it, Jordan is probably right. Liverpool’s style could be perfect. They aren’t showing it at the moment, but they will again. With Bellingham in the side, that isn’t a given. But by heck, he’ll help.
