Jurgen Klopp has decided to bring Darwin Nunez back into the Liverpool starting line-up to face Brighton today.
Nunez made his return from injury with 20 minutes off the bench against Chelsea last week. Having sat out of the previous two games, The Athletic report that he is set to return to the XI.
The news comes as a big boost to Liverpool, who have looked a little toothless in the Uruguayan’s absence.
Having scored on his last Reds start – against Wolves on January 7th, Nunez looks set to lead Liverpool’s bid for revenge against Brighton.

Liverpool get Darwin boost
This is great news. Although Darwin hasn’t always been efficient in-front of goal this season, Liverpool look a whole lot more potent with him in the team.
Brighton’s defence were barely troubled when the two teams met a fortnight ago. Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah just couldn’t get their press right.
That should hopefully change with Nunez returning. He may not always have his shooting boots on, but he will run and run all day. No wonder his teammates think he’s ‘outstanding.’
Should he get into a foot race with the likes of Lewis Dunk this afternoon, there’s only going to be one winnner.

The 23-year-old’s presence should also help Gakpo. The two linked up relatively well in their only start together so far. Having appeared to strike up an instant chemistry on the training pitch, it’s a promising partnership for Liverpool.
With another six days before they once again face Wolves, Klopp should go as strong as possible.
Back-to-back clean sheets have given Liverpool hope of becoming a solid side once more. Brighton will be a big test in that regard and the Reds have got to keep the rhythm going.
To do that, they need their big players available. Whatever you think of Nunez, he is one of those right now. Fingers crossed for some magic on the South Coast.
