Liverpool have recalled a sixth player from their loan spell this month in Owen Beck. The Reds are changing things up.
Liverpool announced on Thursday that Owen Beck has returned from his loan spell. He’s been at Bolton Wanderers with Conor Bradley, but only found nine appearances.
That wasn’t even Beck’s first loan of the season, in fact. He was originally at Famalicao in Portugal but again had the deal cut prematurely. Then it was off to Bolton, where he again couldn’t quite find consistent football.
It’s a shame for Beck, as he’s well-regarded at Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp called him a ‘super talent’, per the Manchester Evening News. He impressed Trent Alexander-Arnold, too.

“He’s impressed a lot of us with the way he is,” said the full-back. “He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player.”
Liverpool recall another loan player
Quite incredibly, Beck is the sixth player Liverpool have recalled this month. Rhys Williams, James Balagizi, Fidel O’Rourke, Max Woltman, Billy Koumetio and Jakub Ojrzynski are all back at the club prematurely.
Of those, only Williams is likely to play any sort of first-team role. Nat Philips should depart this week, with the 21-year-old taking on his place as the fifth-choice centre-back.
But Liverpool certainly aren’t showing great patience with their loan deals. They want their youngsters playing regularly and if teams can’t offer that, then the Reds would prefer to try again.

Of course, a few of the six may simply stick with academy football for the rest of the season. Billy Koumetio is one who immediately went into the Under 21s and caught the eye – scoring a truly remarkable goal in his first game back.
We imagine Liverpool will try to find better loans for most, though. Getting senior first-team experience is a must if they’re to fulfil their potential.
