Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson has admitted that he has Liverpool fans in his family.
The striker is preparing to face the Reds once again this weekend, having been part of the side that beat them 3-0 ten days ago. And speaking to brightonandhovealbion.com about Sunday’s game, Ferguson said he was expecting a response from Liverpool.
“I think you would [have a point to prove], if you were them. Not hold a grudge so much, but they will want to beat us. If someone had done that to us, we would want to do the same,” said the 18-year-old.
“You are sort of expecting that in a way. I have a lot of friends and family who follow Liverpool, I got a few messages after the league game – not nice ones!”

Ferguson out to break Liverpool hearts again
Ferguson just keeps on rubbing salt into the Liverpool wound. Not satisfied with turning down a move to Anfield in 2020, the youngster bagged an assist against them in the 3-0 hammering earlier this month.
How different things could have been. As per Goal, Ferguson had a choice between Liverpool and Brighton when leaving Bohemians two years ago.
Deeming it too difficult to get first-team minutes at Anfield, the Irishman chose to move to the South Coast instead.
This season, that choice has been vinidicated. With an array of stars ahead of him at Liverpool, it would have been difficult to break through.

At Brighton, he has quickly become one of the most impressive young strikers in the country. Three goals and two assists in five Premier League games tells it’s own story.
This is a teenager who could go as high as he wants. He’s been described by former coach at Bohemians Trevor Croly as being ‘exceptional.’
If he keeps on performing the way he is for Brighton, that won’t be the only superlative hurled his way.
Hopefully Liverpool can keep a better handle on him, and on Brighton in general this weekend. Either way, the Red part of his family will surely be proud.
