Liverpool want to add midfielders Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunez to Jurgen Klopp’s squad in the summer, according to The Times’ Paul Joyce.
As per the report, the Reds hope to secure additions to the middle of the park.
As widely reported, Borussia Dortmund’s 19-year-old star is the priority target at Anfield.
Furthermore, following recent claims suggesting the Merseyside club are back in for the Wolverhampton Wanderers man, Joyce now confirms this is the case.
Liverpool want Bellingham and Nunes
Although this is hugely positive for the Reds, the club need midfield additions right now.
If this doesn’t happen, FSG and Klopp are completely writing this season off.
Furthermore, if Liverpool fail to secure a spot in the top-four, this could have serious complications on potential transfers.
While it is unlikely to affect a possible move for Nunes, the lack of Champions League football would make it incredibly hard for the Reds to land Bellingham at Anfield.
The England star is wanted by the biggest clubs in world football. Therefore, why would he want to join a side who aren’t competing in Europe’s most prestigious competition.
If Liverpool fail to fix their midfield issues this month, this could be a serious possibility come the end of the campaign.
It really isn’t a risk worth taking, so the club should do all they can to rectify the situation now.
