Here are our Liverpool player ratings vs Wolves after the Redsâ FA Cup 3rd Round replay at Molineux on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool took on Wolves on Tuesday evening with a much-changed side. Jurgen Klopp hoped to both rotate and progress in the FA Cup, calling on several young players to help him.
One of them certainly got Liverpool on their way. Harvey Elliott scored a magnificent goal for the Reds, firing it in from 25 yards after carrying the ball from within his own half.
It was an otherwise uneventful game â but Liverpool will like that. They didnât give away easy chances and controlled Wolves well enough. This was definitely progress.
Liverpool player ratings
CoaimhĂn Kelleher â 7
Exactly what Liverpool needed from Kelleher. He didnât face too much but answered everything well. A good save from Ruben Nevesâs free-kick, too.
James Milner â 7
Very solid. Klopp took a chance on Milner at right-back and it paid off. Heâs a legitimate option there for Liverpool.
Ibrahima KonatĂ© â 8
Effectively sharing this rating with Gomez. The pair of them were solid, consistent, and forced Wolves into a battle.
Joe Gomez â 8
As above but also went out and performed as a right-back, too. Gomezâs best game in a while.
Kostas Tsimikas â 6
Lost Adama Traore on a couple of occasions but thatâs inevitable and he wasnât punished. Unusually quiet going forward, though.
Stefan Bajcetic â 7
We liked this. Bajcetic looked fantastic at times and his confidence is incredible for his age. But there were a couple of rough moments â as youâd expect from a youngster.
Naby Keita â 7
Keita didnât affect the game all that much going forward but he was solid and consistent here. Along with the rest of the midfield, this was a big upgrade on recent weeks.
Thiago â 7
Better from Thiago and Liverpool were more solid with the ball here. He moved it well and looked more like himself.
Harvey Elliott â 9
His overall game wasnât a nine and Elliott was quiet often in this one. His goal, however, was a moment of world-class talent. Heâs been called âmagnificentâ and this showed why.
Fabio Carvalho â 5
Itâs increasingly obvious that Carvalho is a no.10 playing in a team that doesnât use a no.10. Struggles to get involved from the left.
Cody Gakpo â 5
Itâs a very difficult one for Gakpo. Heâs arrived at Liverpool as a winger and is immediately asked to play out of position. He had mis moments here but doesnât look comfortable.
Subs
Mohamed Salah â 6
Busy and held it up well as a centre-forward. Couldnât find any chances, however.
Curtis Jones â 6
A couple of good touches and nearly found the far corner. A couple of frustrating passes.
Nat Phillips â 5
Was solid other than a poor foul right on the edge of the box.
Fabinho â 6
A decent cameo with some nice passes.
Ben Doak â 7
Maybe a bit high but Doakâs energy and aggression here were fantastic to see. Always leaves Liverpool fans wanting more.
