BBC pundit Alan Shearer has claimed Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic should be very proud of his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“Had a little bit of everything; had to put his foot in at times, read the game very well, protected the back-four very well.

“And on the occasion Liverpool did attack, a lot of it was his passing.

“So yeah, he can be very proud of his performance.”

Shearer lavishes praise on Bajcetic

Having only made his debut for the Reds earlier this season, Bajcetic has taken the transition to first-team football really well.

The U19 Spain international adds great energy in the middle of the park; something Liverpool have missed with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in the midfield this term.

The former Celta Vigo academy talent has now made eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s senior team, and he is yet to look out of place.

Therefore, going forward, Bajcetic should always be in contention for a spot in the manager’s starting XI.

With fresh legs, the midfielder constantly wins the ball back and recycles possession. This has been incredibly important for the side, as it has been missed in recent months.

At just 18-years-old, the Spaniard has huge potential for Klopp and the Reds, so it’s an exciting prospect to watch him develop at Anfield for years to come.
